BLAHST Project Partnership with AIMS

The goal of BLAHST (Black Hills Science Teaching Project) is to strengthen K-8 instruction by providing teachers science opportunities that build understanding of science content as well as inquiry-oriented teaching strategies. This project is coordinated by Center for the Advancement of Mathematics and Science Education at Black Hills State University, which has been established by the South Dakota Board of Regents to promote excellence in the teaching and learning of mathematics and science (www.camse.org ).

The fall and spring events offered through BLAHST are also made available in limited seating to the AIMS grant participants.

  • Graduate credit is available through BHSU at $57.30 per credit
  • Stipends of $75 per day will be paid to the AIMS participants who attend sessions outside of school district contract hours.
    • The AIMS grant will pay for substitutes for participants attending during the contract hours.
    • AIMS stipend forms and W-9 forms are available at the resources link
    • Stipend forms must be signed by instructors
    • All forms must be sent to TIE, 1925 Plaza Blvd., Rapid City, SD 57702
